Shop til you drop!! Or not.
Shopping. It is probably any men and women would want to do for the rest of their life, given they have the opportunity to do so (like if you're stinking rich). Maybe some dont, but i know most men and women do.
What are the things that would make you lose interest in shopping? Well I have a few.
Annoying and rude shop/store assistants: The moment you step foot in a shop specially those high-end ones, you are completely judged by the way you look, the bag you are carrying, the shoes you're wearing (how uncomfortable you look with it, this is important.) what cellular phone you have n hand and with how you dress. If you do not pass their standard, you're lucky if someone would actually pay attention to you. That is being rude. I remember having this story for quite some time now, based on my experience. There's this one man and as what i have said, if you judge him by the way he look well, i would say that he's a farmer of some sort and i am being generous, some people might actually say that he's a beggar. Although, we were just in SM i would really mind wearing a worn-off jeans, a ragged and really dirty one and slippers with a lot of mud on it, a baseball cap which looks ancient and an old shirt, its light pink but you can tell that the original color was red. We were at the appliance section in SM. He was alone, literally, without any company or sales person beside him. He really got my attention with the way he dressed himself so i was curious that i have been eyeing him for a couple of minutes. He was on the flat-screen TVs aisle. It wasn't that long before he stopped roaming around checking out those TVs, i was thinking maybe that 50inch screen is what he wanted. I was just a few steps away from him by the way. He called for a sales guy, one from the pack of 3 sales person that was just checking him out came. I didn't pay much attention for their silent conversation, it was short though and then the man ordered this 50inch screen in front of him so i looked back again, the sales guy obviously in shock didnt move for a few seconds and went on to assist the man with his order. I was shocked too. The sales guy asked the man for the mode of payment, he asked for the man's credit card, if he owns one. Then the man told him that he doesnt own any cards at all. The sales guy asked in full doubt and uncertainty "ahm... pano po... sir? ahhhhhhh.. cash po ba?" he doesn't even know if he would call him "Sir" which is so damn rude in so many levels. Anyway, the man pulled out a small bag, I didn't notice this one when i first saw him. It goes along with his outfit, it was untidy as well. He said, "cash ang ibayad ko sana, kaso bibilangin ko pa ito." He took his money out from the bag, its thick and all in 1000 peso bill. Then came the riot, the sales person assisting him called for a few back up, the sales guy told the other sales guy to help the man with his money and assist him to the cashier and he asked the other guy to get one unit so they can test it. Suddenly the man became so special. The screen costs around 100k i think. Its branded and well, its 50inch. I was thinking maybe inside of that man's head: "in your faces jack-ass!!" Hah!
The annoying ones. Those who dont let you off their sight kind of sales person. I know, its their job but they dont have to ruin the shopping craze for you, do they? I remember those 2 dumb guys at a toy store. They are both offering me toys from their respective brands i guess, im checking it out one at a time so i can see which one's better. Apparently, the other sales person has a patience with a length of a ruler, he was pissed at the other guy telling him that he was the one who assisted me first and they end up fighting i dont think they even notice me scram. Haha!
SALE: For clothes and shoes ONLY. I dont really like buying shoes or clothes on sale items. They dont usually have other sizes anymore, my size, whether its shoes or clothes. Those on sale are the unchosen ones. The left outs. It is very rare that you would grab a good buy on sale.
Long lines with unethical shoppers: Long lines is a Big No. Even if i have picked out the things that i really wanted to buy already, if i see the long Liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine to the cashier i always go "Hmm.. never mind" drop the things/basket down and leave. Sometimes you have no choice but to endure that long line, some people would really go down to stripping your patience off and lose your sanity. Example of those shoppers with insufferable attitude, the one who would go to the line and leave their shopping baskets to save their post and continue shopping. Once they get back after a couple of minutes and their basket was left out and stayed right where they are because obviously its a basket, it doesnt move and substitutes you on the line while you continue shopping, they would go mad and claim that they should be somewhere else, in front of someone or what not. They are annoying.
Undecided shopping buddy: I always opt to shop alone because of this reason. When i shop, i know what i want, i get what i want, paid for it and im done. Some people would like to strip each and every item off the shelf of the whole store or the mall to check on stuffs and go on with it for hourssssss. Always ends up without getting anything though and goes back to their first choice and do the same thing all over again. Arent they amazing? :)
As much i as enjoyed shopping, these things really ticks me off while Im at it.
Holidays are fast approaching so, Have a Smart and Happy Shopping Everyone!! :)

The Best Thing in My Life
I miss my family. I miss us being together. I miss those times we used to go for vacation completely. I miss the things the way it used to be. :(
I am happy with those who have joined us and made our family grow bigger and happier. I just miss those times that we are still together. Now everyone's have the life of their own. They're everywhere, but here. I feel like i was left alone. :( I'm just missing them too much I guess. I can never get used to this. I have a great family and i feel very grateful and blessed about it. We had fights, we had our short-comings but thats normal, what important is at the end of the day you are still together, as a family. I knew that one day, this will come, we will go and find our different paths, live our lives separately. That's life. We cannot hold on to something forever.
I know, it's not like they were gone, I just miss them. They were everywhere, different countries, different places together with their family, especially my sister. My mom's with my dad. My brother's with mom and dad. My other sister's with her fiancé. Haay.. Everything's different. Name's has been changed. Some left, others came in. But we are still a family, for eternity and that is all that ever matters. :)
It was 2008 when things got a little different. My eldest sister got married and Later that year we have received a very special blessing.. My First Niece was born..
Then a little sister for Gwen..

The Reason I Do Not Fancy Television
Television is full of crappy things. Back home, watching TV especially on the local channels, are the very least of my interest. Our 50 inch screen is useful to my sister and I for watching DVD's and anything worth watching on cable channel. It's just full of stupid and uninteresting people. A deceitful maniac hosting a show that is supposed to be wholesome. That's just one.
Tonight I have seen the most pointless, dull, frivolous, inappropriate and ill-considered commercial ever.
I was watching House M.D. and then the commercial was on.....
It's a redbull cartoon ad with stupid flying pigs (as the ad always point out, redbull gives you wings) and a boy who wanted to go to a strip bar. A boy, yes, and his mom who finally gave in to his request the moment she saw the flying pigs. Now that's odd.
A complete 30 second of madness..
In the video the boy "politely" said he wanted to go to "the gentlemen's club" but on TV it was Strip bar. You may want to see the rest of the silly ads of redbull. But i suggest you do not. =P

"Pinoy Monkey Pride"
I don't have anything much to say about this video. 98% of its content is true, otherwise i would not bother trying to share this thing. Being in the third world country and proud of it? Yes. I'd say I earned it. Our government is the worst thing that ever happened to our country. The remaining 2% of this, is my argument. It is quite unfair to always blame poverty to those who are in a nicer and more pleasant position. Businessman or not, in politics or not some people are just blessed with a better life than the lot because they rightfully deserve it in exchange for their hard work and endless effort to be in the position they are in the society.
Some of the people i know, they are less fortunate than myself but they have chosen to stay that way rather than to study because they have given the chance to do so and be able to have a better job in the future but they just do not want to. Basically, some of the poor people choose to be that way. When they decided to ditch high school get their girlfriend pregnant instead and be jobless while raising a kid and then decided to add another unfortunate kid to live the life their parents chose to have and starve, live on the streets, blame the government for not having a job, being homeless when you will come to think of it, it is their fault in the first place, that day they have decided to ditch school and the chain just keeps on going and going and going...
One thing's for sure. It is hopeless. It is happening, yes. Some people are making it happen and some are just letting it happen. Discipline. The very essential thing that our nation do not possess.
**************************************************************************************************
Sharing the same nationality with other Filipino who have "Earned" the pride being a proud Filipino doesn't give you the liberty to celebrate being in your own race. They worked hard for it, it's theirs, it's their time, their lime light.

I might left you wondering about the "earned" thing. Watch the Video. :)

First Post: "OFW"
I am a newbie in Blogger, but not in blogging. I have started this new blog site again. I missed writing just about anything that i could think of, so for my first post, a little something that i have experienced recently.
I am no OFW although I am OVERSEAS, I am a FILIPINO but I am not a WORKER here :) These past few weeks I get to see the life of an OFW no matter how aware I am with the life of an OFW, My dad's an OFW, my brother's an OFW, my brother-in-law's an OFW so as his wife, my sister is now an OFW and most of my family is abroad. Fortunate to have been accepted in a good company in their respective fields, it is rewarding in some ways but its one heck of a sacrifice. It really is, like as it was for me, living here away from the life that I am used to back in the Philippines. Its a totally different thing, at home (at Philly) I can just sit around all day and expect a food on the table. Here, you don't cook, buy or dine out you will starve. There, whenever i feel like going out, go anywhere, anytime i can drive my car and be comfortable, here you take the bus, take time to remember each bus number with their respective routes, swipe your bus card if you have one or pay some coins and if you get lucky you can seat or you can take an overly-priced taxi with some rude-none-english speaking-taxi-driver. Back home, (yes i can really say there's no place like home!) At home you get out of your room, open the gate or wait for Apong or Nico or Kuya Boy or Yaya to open the gate for you and just drive away, same thing when you get back, a little beep-beep here and there wait for someone to open the gate then voila! you're home. Here, you get out of the house, go to the elevator press the disgusting buttons that god knows who have pushed that buttons and where..oh i don't want to know!.. then wait for a minute or two to endure the annoying sound inside the elevator before you get off and go straight to the gate to push another button and then finally you're out. That is just for leaving the building, when you decided to go back you must be ready to stand right in front of the gate where you need to key in your number combination and be able to grant an access inside the building and repeat the catastrophic elevator experience and then you're home. At the Philippines, all your friends are there, your family, your Yaya who cleans the house, wash the dishes and do the laundry for you, your Mom who cooks for you. Here you do it all by yourself. *sigh.. Life...
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
A day in a life of an OFW.
Well now, that may seemed unfair, there are good things in here too. See, here you can go out late at night for a Hot Choco or if you prefer Ice cream without worrying much cause its safer unlike in the Philippines you go out around 10PM to get some Ice cream consider yourself very lucky if you didn't get robbed or killed or both. And once you get out of the building almost everything that you need is just 3-5 minutes walk away. There are a lot of free things here. You can run in a stadium, go for a gym and workout for free, go to a park for free and a lot more compared to the Philippines every move you make cost you a Peso. But I miss home, I miss everyone there, one mortal enemy of an OFW as they say, "Homesickness!" So true. especially when you have left someone back home. Its a whole lot of a different thing and I'm learning everyday from it.
Another cool thing here, the view from my room :)
